Job Description:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a Credit Risk Analyst to join the growing Credit Risk Acquisition function of this organisation. The department is responsible for the management of SMF’s policies surrounding lending, affordability and creditworthiness, and fraud prevention
  • As part of the Credit Risk Acquisition team, the successful candidate will undertake both routine and project work to contribute actively to our overall business strategy. Producing and distributing management information, together with the undertaking of more in-depth analyses and projects, you will support the strategic development of the business
  • The role will require the successful candidate to be involved with the decision engine, lending policy rules and credit reference agency data. There will be opportunities to assist the team with the configuration of new product/system integrations to continuously enhance SMF’s acquisition strategy
  • The role also supports the wider business through the maintenance, enhancement and creation of management information, analytics and insight

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Credit Risk and MI Manager with the development, management and monitoring of new acquisition strategies and continuous revisions to existing policies for improved opportunities
  • Performing detailed and well documented analysis to support the development of strategies, policies and processes
  • Developing and maintaining the Affordability and Creditworthiness policy to ensure that SMF operates in line with regulation and external macroeconomic changes
  • Assist in the continued development of SMF’s fraud prevention and detection strategies so that the onboarding process is efficient whilst also mitigating fraud loss
  • Undertaking detailed and potentially complex projects that require new product/system integrations and decision engine configuration
  • Undertaking detailed and potentially complex projects to support the development of strategies, policies, models and processes in the wider business, working mainly with other colleagues in the wider risk function
  • Delivering insightful and focused credit risk reporting & analysis for the management team on a regular and ad hoc basis

Skills:

  • Analytically minded
  • Knowledge and practical experience of any MI/analytical development tools such as SAS EG, SAS VA, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, R etc.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel & PowerPoint
  • Methodical approach to investigation but with the ability to see and think outside the box when required, can see “the bigger picture”
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and thorough approach to quality of output required at all times
  • Ability to prioritise workloads for optimum performance
  • Ability to deliver presentations to all levels of colleagues and tailor the message accordingly
